Job Title: Sales Representative

Reports to: Director of Sales

FLSA Classification: Salary/Exempt

SUMMARY

Responsible for all sales activities in assigned accounts or regions. Expands sales through maintaining existing customers, prospecting and enlisting new customers. Formulates a sales plan to enable the execution of sales and support marketing strategies. Develops sales forecast and achieve defined sales goals.

As with all salaried position, work hours may vary based on operational demands and may require occasional work extends beyond a normal work day or work week.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Presents and sell company products and services to current and potential clients.
  • Prepares action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
  • Analyzes customersí needs and interest in existing or new designs for obtaining sales.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  • Identifies sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
  • Prepares presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
  • Develops and maintains sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Establishes and maintains current client and potential client relationships.
  • Identifies and resolve client concerns.
  • Prepares a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
  • Communicates new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Coordinates company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
  • Develops and implement special sales activities to reduce stock.
  • May be relied upon to follow-up for collection of outstanding customer accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to create, , and edit written materials.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as demonstrated in keen listening, verbal presentation and in written formats.
  • Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of sales or marketing experience. Engineering background would be helpful, but not required.
  • Current Driversí License. Clean DMV record.
  • Requirements for travel is about 10%. Work requires travel to current and potential clients.
  • Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.

 

Outside Sales Representative

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This is primarily a sedentary office classification and employee works in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no exposure to hazardous physical substances.

Finger dexterity is needed to grasp, hold and manipulate objects. Physical requirements include travel by airplane, automobile, bending, walking, stooping, pulling, and pushing.

Employee works in a production environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no exposure to hazardous physical substances. Open space, well-ventilated, normal working temperature around 70 degrees

Physical requirements (based on 8 hour shift). Employees may work daily overtime and some Saturdays may be required to satisfy operational standards and productivity demand.
